The Nike Air Tuned Max was one of the very first trainers to feature a full length sole unit of “Tuned Air” and now makes a grand return for March 2021.
Following in the footsteps of Sean McDowell’s Nike Air Max Plus, or Air Max TN as it also commonly known, the Nike Air Tuned Max trainer took Tuned Air technology to the next level. The innovative sole technology of Tuned Air provided some of the greatest stability that Air Max boasted at the time with low pressure cushioning & high impact protection. First released in the 1999, Nike are now set to re-release the late 90s icon with the re-release of the Nike Air Tuned Max ‘Dark Charcoal / Celery’ trainer for March 2021.
Just like a lot of the original Tuned Air styles, the Air Tuned Max was a massive hit on the streets of London in the early noughties. It was the OG ‘Dark Charcoal / Celery’ colourway that inspired the Nike Air Max 97 Skepta trainer from 2017. With its famous iridescent finish, TPU moulds & Tuned Air sole technology the Nike Air Tuned Max was way ahead of its time, when the best game you could get on your Nokia 3210 was a grey pixelated snake. The sporty Air Max silhouette now returns for 2021 for a very special re-release.
Highlights of the latest 2021 re-release include mesh uppers with the iconic iridescent leather overlays in Saturn red & Celery. The Air Tuned Max trainer is finished off with classic swoosh branding to the tongue & heel, alongside a full length Tuned Air sole unit for the ultimate bounce in every step.
The Tuned Air Max ‘Dark Charcoal Celery’ trainer will be launching from the AMT store on Tuesday 16th March 2021 from a range of retailers we work with. You can also subscribe to Air Max Tings & follow @airmaxtings to keep up to date with all the latest Air Max news, releases & drops.
