The Nike Air Max Plus 3 Laser Blue trainer continues the legacy of ‘Tuned Air’ and a golden era of Air Max from the late 90s to the early noughties.
Originally dropping as part of Nike’s ‘Tuned Air’ programme or TN for short, the Nike Air Max Plus 3 continued the legacy of the original Air Max Plus trainer from 1998. The first of the TN series saw Nike designer Sean McDowell get his design inspiration from a day spent at a Florida beach as well as the introduction of the iconic hexagonal TN logo. The latest Nike Air Max Plus 3 Laser Blue trainer gives a nod to the colourful TN style for a futuristic spin on the original Sean McDowell silhouette.
1998 was massive turning point for Nike. Not only did it mark a new era of Tuned Air but it was also like the end of an era of what we now consider to be classics from the Air Max story. As the noughties approached technology & trends were changing & the Air Max Plus perfectly captured the moment.
After Nike brought back the Air Max Plus 3 from the archives in late 2019 it’s seen a variety of colourway releases. Now decked out in an updated laser blue & white colourway this latest TN features dyed mesh gradient uppers with leather overlays & synthetic panelling which give a nod to the original palm tree upper inspiration. A TPU clip to the heel counter gives a futuristic look with Tuned Air cushioning underfoot for the ultimate in Air Max sole technology. The classic early noughties Tuned Air style is finished off with the signature TN hexagonal branding to the tongue & inner sides.
The Nike Air Max Plus 3 Laser Blue trainer is now available from the Air Max Tings shop via the links above. We’ve also introduced a selection of other colourways from the futuristic looking Tuned Air silhouette.
