2021 will mark the 15th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’ trainer which returns for a very special re-release for Nike Air Max Day.
The 26th of March marks the annual celebrations of Visible Air, a date which has now become engraved in every Air Max fans’ calendar. Nike Air Max Day 2021 will officially mark the return of one of the most sought after Air Max trainers out there. We can now unveil that the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’ trainer will be officially making a comeback for March 2021, as part of the Nike Air Max Day 2021 celebrations.
The Nike Air Max 90 DQM ‘Bacon’ trainer has become something of a legend for Air Max collectors since it’s original release back in the early noughties. In 2004, Nike teamed up with DQM (Dave’s Quality Meats), a New York sneaker & streetwear store which was started by Dave Oritz and Chris Keeffe. The store featured a butchers theme throughout which is where the inspiration for the Bacon Air Max trainer originated. The uppers of the Air Max 90 were transformed into a tasty breakfast treat with bacon inspired colourways. Current resale values of the Bacon inspired AM90 shoe are around £1000, making it one of the most expensive Air Max trainers on the sneaker resale market.
For Nike Air Max Day 2021, the Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’ trainer returns for a very special 15th anniversary release. Featuring leather & suede uppers in a mixture of sail, straw & brown with pink side swooshes. Packed full of smoked meaty goodness, this savoury sneaker is not to be missed!
The collectible Air Max colourway will be available to cop on 26th March 2021 from the Air Max Tings store from a selection of stockists we work with. Also don’t forget to subscribe to Air Max Tings & follow @airmaxtings to keep up to date with all the latest Air Max news, releases & drops.
